Jenn Bruyer Workshop: Hammock Obscureography 2 Different Material

Friday November 9 4:45 - 6:15pm $50

This is a one time opportunity to learn a unique and complete piece of Choreography made especially for your studio. Designed by my brain, for your bodies.

Join me to discover my particular brand of aerial panache! This workshop will expose you to my personal perspective on creating a dance like effect in the air via intentional structure and a careful skill curation that lends itself to various successful movement qualities. We will explore fresh ideas in ascension, shape making, transitions, drops and dynamics

Jenn has been immersed in aerial arts since 2008. She is driven by her focus on fabric (silks) and sling (hammock) but also enjoys exploring cord lisse, cloud swing, trapeze, lyra, net, rope & harness and anything else someone puts in front of her. She has coached, choreographed and performed around the world including over 30 US states, Italy, Germany, Austria, Canada and Mexico.

As an Aerial Coach, she seeks to provide the highest quality progressive instruction to aerialists of all abilities from novice to professional performer. Her mission as a human is to cultivate a warm, non-judgmental learning environment that fosters community, to build physical and emotional strength within the individuals who participate in this environment and methodically construct a vehicle by which to create art.

Jenn Bruyer Workshop: Vertical Dance

Friday November 9 6:30 - 8pm $50

Open to most aerialists with fabric and/or rope experience. Suggested: ability to invert from the floor, ability to double crochet, ability to hold your own weight in the air.

It's not all triple stars and slack drops my friendsâ€Ã‚¦ If you aren't using the floor as your apparatus connects to it you are MISSING AN OPPORTUNITY! In this workshop we will explore transitions, skills and ideas as they relate to and transition to and from the floor. You can expect supported floor work, spins, mounts, descents, loops, knots, locks, poses and more. Intended for those who want to enliven their floor transitions for existing fabric/rope work or reimagine how to use a small space.

Restore and renew aerial yoga workshop

Friday November 16 6:30 - 7:30pm $25

AIReal Yoga-real yoga in the air! Come feel the restorative healing effects that adding the hammock can provide as you practice your asanas in the air.

Whether you're a brand new yogi, an experienced practitioner, an aerialist, or just curious, AIReal Yoga can provide you with exactly what you need.

The hammock supports us throughout our practice by helping us find our center, challenging our balance, providing space in a previously unavailable pose, or facilitating a deeper stretch. We can enjoy the many benefits of inversions without putting pressure on the head, neck, or back. And most importantly-it's fun! Absolutely no experience (with yoga nor aerial) necessary. Come float with us!

Taught by Rebecca

Rebecca Pickens is an instructor at the Detroit flyhouse and high school math teacher. After experiencing aerial yoga a few years ago, she fell in love, and knew she wanted to share the playful and restorative form of yoga with others. Her training took place here in Michigan with the founder of AIReal yoga (credentialed through the Yoga Alliance), Carmen Curtis. Rebecca creates a warm and flexible class atmosphere to ensure each yogi gets exactly what they need from their hammock.
