Circus arts therapy blends elements of dance/movement therapy, creative expression, and circus arts to help participants reconnect with their bodies, build trust, and explore emotions in a dynamic, nontraditional way. The class will not be led by formal instruction (what needs to be done and how to do it) but rather guided by prompts to encourage one's connection with their body and what can be learned by turning our attention inward. We will spend time on breathwork and nervous system regulation, followed by floor warm-ups. Many apparatuses will be available for exploring during flying time, and you are welcome to make a request for your preferred apparatus.
Prerequisites include completing at least one series on any apparatus, the ability to mount and dismount the apparatus without instruction, and the ability to perform at least a few shapes from memory.
Please note that there are no refunds or exchanges.
Guests: Due to capacity limits, no guests allowed, only those enrolled in classes or workshops.
For private lessons or parties, one adult guest may attend per group of minors.
